Sheriff-Elect Tony Bennie Endorses Brett Smith for Re-election to Grayson County DA

GRAYSON COUNTY - Republican District Attorney Brett Smith today announced he has received the endorsement of Sheriff-Elect Tony Bennie.

"Keeping our families safe is important to us here in Grayson County. Brett Smith has always put law and order before politics and before himself. He’s above the fray and has the integrity and the grit to continue leading the DA’s office. Brett Smith has my full support,” said Bennie.

DA Brett Smith’s record includes tracking down fugitives wanted for child sex crimes across the country and across the world. Recently, Smith educated Gunter High School students on the dangers of child sex trafficking over the internet. He’s held several of these trainings in the community throughout his time in office.

“I’m a no-nonsense District Attorney in a world where other District Attorneys in our country refuse to uphold the law. I want to make it very clear that as long as I am Grayson County DA, I will be holding criminals accountable and bringing them to swift justice. I hope to continue my work for the people of this county when I’m reelected,” said Smith.

Smith will face John Kermit Hill in the Republican Primary on March 5th whose hallmark campaign strategy has been to leverage tragedy and false accusations to prop up his candidacy rather than running on his own merit and integrity, both of which are sorely lacking.
